I was planning to try some recipes from a library book I want to review but after enthusiastically agreeing to help, eldest child decided to watch telly instead. So in a fit of pique I made the world’s best brownies instead. These are seriously good – incredibly rich, the top is gloriously crunchy and the corner pieces are the best. Very popular in our house, so they don’t last long but I try not to make them very often, for reasons which will become clear once you look at the recipe. The nearly entire bag of sugar that goes into them is what makes me give a double take. But the end result can’t be denied. They are so good I ate two before I remembered to take a photo.
I use Jo Walton’s recipe and change nothing except I use marg instead of butter.
