Making Sourdough Muffins with Youngest

"Small child stirs a bowl of muffin mixture"With youngest still being under two it is hard to find ways she can safely help me in our kitchen.  But the other morning after setting some Norwich Sourdough going I had some left over sourdough starter so decided to make some muffins – only with raspberries rather than blueberries.  Muffins tend to be very simple – you mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, add the wet to the dry and stir.  Sounded like the perfect thing for small hands so I brought her into the kitchen and we set to it.  She stirred away happily, paused a few times to sample the batter and was a little unhappy when I took the bowl from her. The muffins turned out a little worthy, next time I’ll up the sugar to 1/2 a cup.
